Cross Road Gallery presents examples of accidental beauty in the context in which they are found. Objects and areas are designated by the curators to make their beauty visible to more people and to encourage them to start observing examples of accidental beauty for themselves.
Together with fellow student Raky I shared the amazement of the transformation of a certain crossroad nearby the RCA in London. Due to maintenance work on the crossroad all the traffic lights had been covered with orange bags by T.C.S.U. (Traffic Control Systems Unit). In our opinion T.C.S.U. had transformed a normal junction into an art installation. Our aim was to share this view with all that would cross the road and make people see the beauty of this intervention by T.C.S.U.
The original concept for Cross Road Gallery was further developed and more and more examples of accidental beauty were added to the Accidental Beauty Catalogue.
